Come work with us!

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic employees who can truly be of help to our little family. Do you have a good working knowledge of English? Are you a flexible, hands-on person who thrives when things really start cooking? Do you have a sense of humour and enjoy working in a close-knit team? Then we would love to hear from you! Give us a call at the Café or send us an email.

Both short-term and medium/long-term positions are available, please refer to the job descriptions below.

Service Staff

Medium to Long Term (preferably six months and longer)

Description: You will be the face behind the delicious food, serving customers, taking orders and working as a barista. You will also be responsible for ensuring the Café is always clean and cheerful and that our guests feel well looked after. In this position, you will have considerable responsibility to maintain the Café's reputation and should be able to keep a level head even during a busy lunch onslaught.

Requirements: A good working knowledge of English is required. You should be well-groomed and have a friendly and pleasant demeanour, be outgoing and have a "can do" attitude. Previous experience in the hospitality industry would be ideal, but is not absolutely necessary, as training will be provided.

All-Rounder

Medium to Long Term (preferably six months and longer)

Description: You will be the person everybody depends on to get things done. In this position, your job description can range from kitchen-hand jobs such as washing dishes and preparing ingredients and simple side dishes, to helping out the service staff, to small maintenance tasks, and beyond. This is a very varied and diverse job that requires a lot of flexibility and a "can do" attitude, but there is no better way to truly understand what the restaurant business is all about.

Requirements: A good working knowledge of English is required.

WWOOFERs

Short Term

Description: "WWOOFers" are people travelling our beautiful country for up to a year who take up temporary employment to sustain themselves, working up to six hours per day in exchange for food and accommodation. So what better place to come for good food than a Café? The job description for our WWOOFers reads similar to the All-Rounder, depending on demand and your personal skills.

Requirements: You should speak at least some English and be prepared to take on a variety of tasks, from washing dishes to gardening.

Check out the WWOOF website for additional information: http://www.wwoof.co.nz/
